The Labrador Club of Scotland Open Show : 2^nd June 2024

Thank you to the Committee for the invitation to judge and the exhibitors for bringing such quality labradors to assess, I thoroughly enjoyed the appointment.

Baby Puppy Dog/Bitch (2, 0)

1^st Holliday & Auld’s Farbrae Winter’s Storm, five month old happy balanced pale yellow boy. A lovely head with a melting expression and good pigmentation, nice reach of neck and good front and rear angulation, moved well.  2^nd Ross’ Dunmhuilig Cameron, 5 month old black boy, lovely head with a good length of muzzle, good coat and good rear quarters.  Preferred the overall balance and togetherness of 1.

Veteran Dog/Bitch (6,4)

1^st Brown’s Ramsayville Remmington BVIS, nine year old well constructed balanced yellow dog. A lovely proportioned head, good length of muzzle, good eye shape creating such a melting and kind expression.  Good front and rear angulation with nice short hocks, moved very well.  2^nd Drummond’s Pollham Marley at Drumonagh, nine year old eye catching yellow bitch. Beautiful head with a lovely eye shape and good pigmentation. Well angulated rear quarters, lovely on the move, in really good condition.

Minor Puppy Dog (5, 3)

1^st Thomson’s Strathhunker Zephyr, seven month old balanced black puppy, masculine head with a nice eye shape and well set ears giving a lovely appealing expression. Nice reach of neck leading to a level topline, good front angulation, short coupled and good tail set. Moved well.  2^nd Sharp’s Alliemhor Midnight Harmony, seven month old black puppy. A lovely proportioned head with a soft kind expression. Longer cast in body than one. A good depth of chest, nice length of leg and tight feet.

Junior Dog (5,2)

1^st Tulloch’s Tullochmohr Ultimo Finale BD, BPIS, RBIS, BOS, eye catching eleven month old balanced and well constructed mature black puppy. Well proportioned head with a lovely eye shape and good length of muzzle. Good reach of neck and nice depth of chest. Good front and rear angulation which enabled him to move effortlessly around the ring. In super fit condition with a good coat and otter like tail.  2^nd Meissner, Gajda-Meissner’s Saorsa Rio Bravo, sixteen month old black. Another lovely balanced youngster in good condition, with a nice head and good length of muzzle. Good reach of neck, good front angulation, built on a good length of leg and nice tight feet, moved well. 3^rd Drummond’s Passion Of My Life Kimani With Dromonagh (Imp Pol).

Novice Dog (2, 0 abs)

1^st Thomson’s Strathhunker Zephyr, - 1^st MPD.  2^nd Thomson’s Strathhunker Fire Gem, almost two year old pale yellow boy. Such a lovely proportioned masculine head with good pigmentation giving him a kind intelligent expression. Good reach of neck leading into a level topline and good rear angulation, good length of leg and nice tight feet.

Graduate Dog (2,0)

1^st Tulloch’s Binnaig First Edition Via Tullochmohr, sixteen month balanced well constructed black youngster. Masculine proportioned head with a good length of muzzle and kind intelligent expression. Good reach of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Good rear angulation and otter -like tail, good coat, moved well.   2^nd Mallin’s Wynfaul Second Edition, a lovely compact two year old black boy. Nice proportioned head with a lovely eye shape creating a kind expression. Good reach of neck, good front angulation, level topline, short coupled and nice tight feet.

1^st Tulloch’s Binnaig Bonnach For Tullochmohr (RBD), sixteen month well constructed balanced yellow. Lovely shaped masculine head with a nice length of muzzle and good pigmentation creating a kind intelligent expression. Lovely reach of neck leading into well placed. shoulders and level topline and tail set. In good coat and condition, moved well.

2^nd Gilroy’s Claychalk Costa Yen, quality four year old yellow, so well balanced throughout with a lovely clean outline. Lovely proportioned masculine head with a nice eye shape and good pigmentation.  Good Reach of neck, correct front and rear angulation standing on a nice length of leg and tight feet. Moved effortlessly around the ring, just preferred the showmanship of one today.

Open Dog (5,3)

1^st Wilson’s Wilenmory Ozone Free, three year old nicely balanced yellow dog with a lovely masculine head with a kind eye and good length of muzzle giving him a lovely expression. Good reach of neck leading into a level topline and good rear quarters. In really good condition, moved well.  2^nd Campbell’s Binnaig Benavie JW, five year old quality balanced yellow dog with a well proportioned head, well set ears and good pigmentation creating . Good front and rear angulation, good tail set & otter like tail, moved well.

Minor Puppy Bitch (4,0)

1^st Lawrence’s Dunnabbey Funny Girl (RBPIS), seven month old smart balanced confident chocolate puppy made with good bone and substance. A lovely head with a sweet expression and a nice kind eye. Good front and rear angulation, nice tight feet, good coat, moved well.  2^nd Thomson’s Strathhunker Cosworth, eight month old yellow puppy.  Another really nice puppy, slightly longer in body than one. A pleasing head with a sweet feminine expression and good pigmentation. Good length of leg to body ratio, good coat, moved well. Just preferred the overall balance of 1.  3^rd Sharp’s Alliemhor Midnight Love.

Puppy Bitch (2,0)

1^st Burn’s Bonnieburns Blue Print, eleven month old balanced black puppy made with good bone and substance. A lovely head with a good length of muzzle, kind eye and melting expression. Nice reach of neck, good front and rear angulation, nice tight feet, moved well.  2^nd Pollock’s Pollam Bracara, Eye catching nine month old balanced yellow puppy built on lovely clean lines. A beautiful proportioned head with such a sweet expression and good pigmentation. Nice reach of neck that flowed into her topline, good front and rear angulation and good coat. Preferred the movement on 1.

Junior Bitch (4,0)

1^st Campbell’s Binnaig Buppsala JW, sixteen month old smart balanced black girl with good bone and substance. Such a beautiful head, well proportioned with a kind eye and willing to please expression. Lovely reach of neck flowing into level topline, good front and rear angulation, otter like tail, moved well.  2^nd Gunn’s Exelby Elizabeth, thirteen month old yellow. A lovely feminine head, a nice kind eye, good length of muzzle, good pigmentation giving her such a melting expression. Nice reach of neck, level topline and a lovely length of leg, moved well. Just preferred the overall balance of 1.  3^rd Grant’s Ellukine Sweet Moments.

Novice Bitch (4,0)

1^st Gunn’s Exelby Elizabeth - (2^nd Junior Bitch).  2^nd Sharp’s Alliemhor Midnight Dreams, two year old black built on a bigger frame than 1. A feminine proportioned head with a good length of muzzle and kind eye giving her a lovely expression. Nice reach of neck, good depth of chest, good coat, moved OK when settled.  3^rd. Hibb’s Binnaig Blissful

Graduate Bitch (4,1)

1^st Park’s Kinchyle Bedazzled, BB, BIS almost two year old black with a lovely clean balanced outline that flowed from head to tail.  A beautiful proportioned feminine head with a kind eye, good length of muzzle giving her such a soft expression. An excellent reach of neck flowing into her level topline with good front and rear angulation and lovely length of leg. In good coat and condition, moved well.  2^nd Meissner, Gajda-Meissner’s Saorsa Pisco Punch, five year old well constructed balanced quality black built on a slightly bigger frame than 1. A beautiful head with a soft expression, nice kind eye and good length of muzzle. A lovely reach of neck in good condition and coat, moved well, just preferred the overall balance and outline of 1.  3^rd Pollock’s Pollham Saucey Sue.

Post Graduate Bitch (7,1)

1^st Cameron’s Bowstones Waltzing Matilda Around Camisky,RBB. Eye catching three year old yellow bitch with such a clean balanced outline. Beautiful head with a kind eye, intelligent expression and good pigment. Lovely reach of neck flowing into her topline, good front and rear angulation and good coat, moved effortlessly around the ring.  2^nd Ungoed-Thomas’s Afinmore Allium at Murlaggan, two year old black longer in body than 1. A lovely feminine head with a good length of muzzle and a sweet expression. Lovely reach of neck and topline, standing on a nice length of leg and good rear quarters. Moved OK.  3^rd Farquharson’s Ramsayville Russian Rhythm.

Limit Bitch (5,1)

1^st Gardner’s Rewari Black Emerger, three year old well constructed balanced black with a lovely clean outline. Beautiful head with a soft expression and kind eye. Good reach of neck that flowed into her level topline. Not in the best of coat unfortunately, moved well.  2^nd Thomson’s Strathhunker Gabrielle JW, two year old well constructed yellow, slightly bigger in frame than 1. Lovely proportioned feminine head, good length of muzzle, good pigmentation and nice expression.  Nice tight feet and tail set, good coat, moved well. Just preferred overall balance of 1.  3^rd Holliday & Auld’s Farbrae Good Times Ahead.

Open Bitch (4,1)

1^st Gardner’s Rewari Emilly, five year old well constructed black with such a lovely balanced outline. Beautiful feminine head with a lovely eye shape and kind expression. Lovely reach of neck  and good length of leg to body ratio. Moved well, unfortunately not in the best of jackets today.  2^nd Park’s Kinchyle Hit The Lights, five year old black, different type to 1, built on a larger frame. Lovely proportioned head with a kind expression, well constructed front and rear angulation, level topline and otter like tail, moved well.  3^rd Campbell’s Binnaig Brene

1^st Cameron’s Bowstones Waltzing Matilda Around Camisky - 1^st Post Graduate Bitch.  2^nd  Grant’s Ellukine Sweet Moments, A nicely balanced thirteen month old yellow bitch built on a bigger frame than 1. Lovely feminine head, good pigmentation and expression.  Good coat, tight feet and moved OK. 3^rd Grant’s Pazanne Gaga.
